The Chop Goes to the Middle East… Again

It’s the last week of June.

Do you know what that means?

It means we’re going to do the same exact thing we did in the last week of June last year…

which was to go to the desert for several months.

The Saudis are known for their playful sense of humor, flirtatious women and joie de vivre... right?

We’ve got bills, you know?

Grown folks’ problems.

And blogging doesn’t pay those bills. Doesn’t solve those grown folks’ problems.

So we’re gonna put the blog on hiatus until October.

We’re gonna go over to the desert and sweat our ass off and try not to get it shot off.

Wish us luck.

See you when we get back.

  1. I just started following your blog this week, so I need to catch up on your annual hiatus habits. I will go get a good cocktail pitcher. A friend just gave me new hints for the perfect Bloody Mary. Be safe!

  2. Thanks to both of you. It’s actually just a coincidence that I’m doing the same job in the same place at the same time as last year, not a regular annual thing.

  3. I was supposed to visit Cairo for the first time this spring, but that ole revolution happened. Alas.

    • Yeah, better to steer clear of that. I’ll be in Kuwait, but not sure where else I might end up. Hoping for Doha, or if I get really lucky maybe a trip to Turkey or Karachi. Haven’t been to any of those places yet.
